The Sharks bolted out of the gate with a 14-5 run, forcing a Spartan timeout. The Sharks poured the pressure on and went up 25-7 after layups from
Eli Allen,
Ross Reeves and an acrobatic finish from
Bennett Kayser. Tampa responded with a 11-3 run of their own, and the Sharks led 28-18 at the under-12 media timeout.
The Spartans decided to turn up the pressure on defense, and NSU fouled on a three-point jumpshot. The Spartans nailed all three free throws to cut the deficit to five, 36-31, but the Sharks responded with another run. NSU went up by 15, 46-31, after a three from Reeves and a post hook from
Jaxon Nap. The Sharks went up 60-46 at the final media timeout on an and-one from
Dallas Graziani. That bucket capped NSU's run, which also featured two more layups from Allen, another three from Reeves and two buckets from Kayser. The Sharks led 68-52 at halftime, and it was their highest scoring half of the young season.
The Sharks opened the second half with more momentum, going up by 18 at the first media timeout, and then went up 80-60 after two free throws from Graziani. The Sharks' lead stayed at 20, 91-71 at the 11:51 mark, and Nap's layup at 8:05 put the Sharks into triple digits. The Spartans cut the deficit to 12 after the Sharks missed multiple free throws, but the Sharks pushed their lead back to 16 by the final media timeout, and they closed the Spartans out 112-99 to push their home winning streak to 87 games.
